A Bigger Message: Conversations with David Hockey
Saturday 21 July 201210:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Talk at Buxton Festival Pavilion, Buxton
On the heels of his illuminating talk on Lucian Freud last year, Martin Gayford returns to Buxton, this time to talk about another giant of the British art world, David Hockney. Described as the world’s most popular living painter, he is also an incisive and original thinker on art. Gayford here recalls a decade of conversations with Hockney about the practice and paradoxes of representing the world, about experiments with different media and technologies, about artists, friends, and landscapes. In doing so he paints a rich portrait of an extraordinary man and a profound exploration of the very nature of creativity.
